Where it began
A prairie idea that still runs today
In 1988, on the wide-open plains of Saskatchewan, Koenders Water Solutions set out to solve a stubborn problem: how do you keep a farm dugout clean and healthy when the nearest power line is miles away?
The answer was elegantly simple: harness the prairie wind to push oxygen to the bottom of the water. Aeration brought the water to life, and a company was born around a belief that still guides us: work with nature, not against it.
Nature's Pond Care grew out of that same company. It is the brand we created to bring the prairie approach, natural biology and aeration, to pond owners at home, without the harsh chemicals so many people had been told were the only option.
Where it began
From a windswept dugout on the prairie
The first customers were farmers and acreage owners with dugouts that turned green and stagnant every summer. A windmill on the bank changed that: steady oxygen from the bottom up, no power bill and no additives. Watching still, murky water come back to life is what set the direction for everything that followed.

Koenders Water Solutions is founded
On the Saskatchewan prairie, the company begins with wind-powered aeration, a natural way to keep farm dugouts and ponds clean using oxygen instead of additives.
- 1990s–2000sThe lineup grows
Aeration for every site
As demand spread beyond the farm, electric and solar aeration followed, bringing the same natural, bottom-up oxygen approach to ponds, lagoons and acreages that windmills alone couldn't reach.

Nature's Pond Conditioner is introduced
Working with the science of beneficial biology, the team introduces an all-in-one pond conditioner: concentrated bacteria and enzymes that digest the muck and nutrients that cloud water and feed algae, with no harsh chemicals.
