Questions
Windmill aeration, answered
Wind-powered aeration for dugouts and ponds, no power line required.
How does a windmill aerator work without electricity?
A windmill aerator uses wind to drive an air compressor that pushes air down to a diffuser at the bottom of your pond or dugout, circulating and oxygenating the water with no electricity or fuel required.
Where does windmill aeration make the most sense?
It’s ideal for remote dugouts, acreages and off-grid sites where running a power line isn’t practical. Wind does the work, so there are no ongoing electricity or fuel costs.
Why does my pond or dugout need aeration?
Still water stratifies and loses oxygen, which lets muck and nutrients accumulate. Aeration keeps water moving and oxygenated, supports fish and beneficial bacteria, and helps prevent winter fish kill.
Does aeration work together with pond conditioner?
Yes. Aeration and conditioning are two steps of the same program. Oxygen from aeration keeps beneficial bacteria active so the conditioner can break down muck and nutrients more effectively.
What if my site doesn’t get consistent wind?
For low-wind or convenience-first sites, solar and electric aeration deliver the same oxygenation. Contact us and we’ll help match a system to your site.
