Questions and answers

4-in-One septic tank treatment FAQ

Everything you need to know about using 4-in-One in your home, cabin, RV or farm.

What is Nature's Pond 4-in-One used for?
It cleans and maintains drains, plumbing and septic systems. The ultra-concentrated blend of beneficial bacteria and enzymes metabolizes the fats, oils and grease that clog pipes and helps reduce odors. In the septic tank, it breaks down organic solids and sludge and reduces excess nutrients in the liquid effluent.
How much 4-in-One do I use for my septic system?
For household toilets, sinks and drains, add 1 liter (about 1 quart) every 8 weeks. For dishwashers and washing machines, add 0.25 liter (about 8 fl oz) every 8 weeks. Always follow the application chart on the label.
Is 4-in-One septic safe?
Yes. It is made for septic systems and is safe for all drains. It contains no corrosive, explosive or flammable acids. It is safe for people, pets, livestock, fish, birds and wildlife when used as directed.
Does a septic treatment replace pumping?
No. Keep up regular inspection and pumping as recommended for your system. 4-in-One is a maintenance treatment that helps break down organic waste between service visits, not a substitute for them.
Can I use 4-in-One in an RV, outhouse or portable toilet?
Yes. For RVs, add 0.25 liter (about 8 fl oz) after each cleaning. For portable outdoor toilets, add 1 liter (about 1 quart) after each cleaning. For outhouse toilets not connected to a septic system, mix 0.25 liter (about 8 fl oz) into 10 liters (about 2.6 gallons) of water every 3 weeks.
Will it clear a slow or smelly drain?
It helps reduce clogs and odors by breaking down the fats, oils, grease and organic matter that build up in drains and pipes. Because it works biologically over time, think of it as ongoing maintenance rather than a harsh chemical drain opener.
Can I use it on a farm or in a sewage lagoon?
Yes. For farms, manure pits and sewage lagoons, the label rate is 4 liters (about 1 gallon) diluted 1:10 in water every 4 weeks. The 60-gallon size suits larger applications like these.
What sizes are available, and how do I store it?
Choose from 1 quart, 1 gallon, 2.5 gallons or 60 gallons. Store it tightly closed in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place at room temperature, avoid freezing, and keep it out of reach of children. It has a long shelf life.
Do I need to take any safety precautions?
Yes. Avoid contact with your eyes and skin, and wear gloves and eye protection when pouring. If it gets in your eyes, rinse with plenty of water and get medical attention if irritation persists. Follow the label and safety data sheet.
